She was an involved member of her community, which included working as a substitute teacher at Plains School, volunteering at London Hospital, serving as a board member of the Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and participating as a member of The United Church. Mary Lou attended Ohio University and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She is survived by her sister Jane, daughter Catherine and her husband Wayne, daughter-in-law Cindy, grandchildren Annie, Matthew, Katie, Boyd, and Webber, and great-grandchildren Keener, Grace, Mack, Louisa, and Vivian.
